Gaz

"G'day from Gaz!
I joined FLAGMANIA firstly for the Adelaide Pride March in 2005 when our infant group was called the Pride Flaggers. I wanted to assist the Pride March with some showy, manly, Mardi gras like effort. Flagging was introduced to me at this time and I thought it sounded like a lot of fun - it was more than fun, in-fact in that first event I experienced a natural high.
Flagging down King William St (One of Adelaide’s main Boulevards) and then onto Hindley Street with sun beaming down through gold streaming flags and smiles lining the street gave me such a high, one of which I will never forget. Thus my history with flagging began and I’m now hooked.
After living in Sydney and London I moved to Adelaide and fell in love with my new home. At this same time in 1996 I saw Adelaide was going through an economic recession, and thus a low esteem time. Adelaide is moving on now and maturing wonderfully, I have been working toward building Adelaide's esteem and pride ever since arriving. It is through flagging that I am able to achieve this.To me Flagging is about community pride building and a sense of personal achievement with a healthy, glam and fun activity. I love this craft."
